Back At It

I had fallen out of love with planning. Unhappy with my MAMBI Happy Planner and unable to find another planner that inspired me, I stopped planning. I watched reviews on YouTube and kept up with my favorite Etsy sellers on Instagram. But I couldn't find that one thing that made me want to get back at it.

Skip ahead a few weeks to my 30th birthday and a very generous friend who gifted me with the Simple Stories Carpe Diem Planner. She made the dividers, filled it with monthly and weekly inserts, and stuffed the pockets with inspirational cards and fun trinkets.

My first two weeks in this planner have been experimental. I'm unsure how I want the weeks to look and I'm still playing with the horizontal layout.

I am a list maker and I found these lined pages to be perfect for my listing tendancies and perfect for a little decorative touch.

This week I used a kit from Planner Society. I believe this was part of their monthly subscription box and was also generously gifted to me by my beautiful friend. I love that the flags provided perfectly cover up the days of the week. I also found that the page flags, checklists, and embelleshments perfectly fit the spaces provided in this planner.

I am back in planner mode and already filling my Etsy cart will all sorts of stickers for my Carpe Diem planner! I hope to have a sticker haul for you all soon!

I would love to hear what your favorite planner are and if you prefer a vertical or horizontal layout! Please comment below or find me on instagram!  @thebrunetteplanner

Plan With Me - The Paperly Boutique

I'm a little late getting this post up with week. But...
My PWM this week uses a new-to-me Etsy seller - The Paperly Boutique. I was attracted to the muted green and taupe colors of this kit and the simple, functial stickers. As we start the new year I am looking to be more organized and proactive with my planning. This kit offers a wide range of funtional stickers, m/d/n headers, page flags, and event markers. These repositionalable stickers are high quality and the price is great for the amount of stickers that come in the kit. I would highly recommend this etsy seller to anyone looking for weekly kits!

Plan With Me - New Year's

Hello all!!

It's been a few weeks since I did a PWM post but here is my spread for the week of New Year's! I picked up this black and gold kit from Let's Plan It on Etsy at the beginning of December. Britne includes so many amazing functional stickers in her weekly kits and this kit also came with a small sheet of decorative stickers. I forgot to take some haul photos before I started the decorating process but I think you get a pretty good idea of what the kit includes from the shots I took. There is also about a full sheet of stickers left over that I just did not have room for, making the price of the kit a great deal! They will be great to keep around as supplimental stickers for future spreads.

I don't generally make New Year's resolutions but I want to make a concious effort to be more organized in 2016. Utilizing my planner each week is the best way for me to keep my schedule on track and keep up with all of the odds and ends that I want to accomplish day to day. I find that the bright colors and fun decorative stickers help me to enjoy the planning process and ensure that I will pull out my planner daily.

I would love to see your planner spreads for the holiday weeks! Share them in the comments below or tag me on instagram @brunetteplanner!

Plan With Me - Gobble Gobble

I am in love with this week! The colors are gorgeous and it has me excited for the fall weather and turkey day! I used the weekly kit from Rory's Sweet Addiction that I featured in my last post and used a sticker book from Michael's to fill in some of the gaps and decorate it up a little. This kit came with so many checklists, half boxes, and icons that I have enough left over to do another week!

I added the two small polish bottle stickers and the blogger icon from The Organizing Companion.

I'd love to hear how you are decorating your planners for the holiday!

Etsy Planner Haul

I recently got in two orders from Etsy that I wanted to share!

This first order is from The Organizing Companion.
The freebie that she gives is great. I appreciate the variety of functional stickers to add to my weekly spreads.
I ordered this lovely fall kit. I used it for my weekly spread last week and absolutely loved it! The morning/day/night coverups are perfect for my planning needs and I love the mix of decorative and plain full boxes.
These last three were just some random sheets from her shop that I really liked. The water color blogger stickers are perfect to denote any blog posts that I want to get up for the week. I also love the mix of solid and glitter nail polishes!

Her high quality stickers are reasonably priced and were cut perfectly. They also shipped out earlier than I was expecting!

This next order is from Rory's Sweet Addiction.
I also loved her freebie! The bright colors will go well with the spreads I have planned for the coming weeks!
This is the first order I've placed with Rory's Sweet Addiction and I chose this four page fall kit. It includes one page of functional icons and checklists, one page of "washi" stickers, one page of full boxes, and one page of half boxes and ombré checklists.

I really like the colors in this kit and think they will match with some of the Thanksgiving Darice sticker books that I have. I also think that there will be enough stickers here to make two full spreads with the addition of some decorative stickers.

I also think that her sets are very reasonably priced and my order shipped out before I was expecting it to!

These are sellers that I have not ordered through before but I am glad I did!

Plan With Me - Fall Foliage

This week I used a weekly kit from The Organizing Companion on Etsy. This is the first weekly kit I've used and I challenged myself to use only the stickers from this kit to fill out my week. It is more functional then decorative but I am really enjoying the structure for this week.

I did end up using my water color blogger stickers, also from The Organizing Companion, to denote my blog posts. They are my one exception to my challenge 😊

These checklists have been incredibly helpful as I plan out my days. And the icons have added a fun touch to my daily chores. I also love the colors in this kit and the quality is incredible.

Look out for a haul coming later this week featuring this shop as well as another new find!!

Plan With Me - Autumn

Happy Autumn!

I skipped a plan with me post last week since I had not really decorated my planner and didn't end up using it as much as I would have liked. It turned out to be a very busy week at work and I didn't have time for much else.

But I'm back at it this week and I love the way this week has turned out!

I was inspired by a family sticker set I found at Michaels as well as a sample set from Libbie & Co on Etsy. This feels very autumnal without being full of dark colors. I also could not wait to use the grass washi that a planner friend found for me!

I don't love that the polka dots on my happy planner show through the washi but I was out of white out, so what can ya do?

I am finally getting this up half way through the week and I love looking at this theme every day - It reminds me to be thankful for the family that I am blessed to have. 😊

Plan With Me - Happy Halloween

For the week of October 19th to October 25th I chose the Happy Halloween sticker book from Darice. I love the bright colors of these sticker books and the cute characters for Halloween!

I had some Halloween scrapbook paper that I used to cover some of these blocks . They were a little hard to write on so I used some plan white paper to write in a few appointments, but overall I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out.

I used my favorite Libbie and Co meal planning, controller, and grocery stickers. The KG Planner To Do stickers also make an appearance on this week's spread, but it's mostly about the decorative stickers that add so much life to this week!

Plan With Me - Movie Mayhem

Hello!!

I am loving these Darice sticker books for my Halloween spreads! This week I used the Movie Mayhem sticker book and since I don't have a lot planned for this week I was able to use some of the larger decorative stickers.

I ran out of my favorite Libbie & Co m/d/n stickers so I went back to my KG Planner To Do stickers and used washi to cover up the other headings. I used some pastel meal planning stickers at the bottom of each day and used coordinating controller stickers at the top.  I really enjoy the combination of pastel and traditional halloween colors and can't wait to plan another week!

Plan with me - Freaky Fountain

I have been looking forward to planning this week since I picked up this super fun Darice Sticker Book. I found some purple and orange scrapbook paper to make full boxes out of and add some extra color to my week. Since I have a few things going on this week I decided to use the decorative stickers in this book to notate those events, instead of my etsy stickers. I used a poison bottle to remind me to refill a prescription, and an orange cake to notate a baby shower on Saturday!

I still made use of my favorite Libbie & Co stickers for my morning and day headers, meal planning, and weekend banner. I used thin washi tape to cover up the night headings since I use that box for work.

I absolutely love love love this weeks spread! I plan to fill in some of those white spaces as the week progresses and my schedule is solidified.

Hope you love this one as much as I do!

**I found my sticker book at Michaels but you can also look for them at Darice.

Mini Planner Haul

I have been waiting for my Michaels to get these holiday sticker books and they finally arrived! I love to use these as decorative stickers in my weekly spreads and I think these will be super adorable for the upcoming holidays.
I also have 3 of the Halloween sticker books from Michaels and I plan to make my next three planner spreads entirely Halloween themed! To help with those weeks I also picked up this thin washi dispenser, also from Michaels. The green, purple, and orange will match perfectly with my upcoming spreads.

Plan With Me - Anniversary Week

Alright guys, I'm going to be completely honest - I'm not in love with this spread. It's not really what I envisioned when I sat down to plan. My 7 year wedding anniversary is on Sunday and I wanted to make this weeks' spread centered around that event. I had this paper pack that I found at Michael's when I was scrap booking my wedding and decided to incorporate some of those papers into the spread.

Since the papers are all black, white, and gray I really wanted to use some red functional stickers to make it pop and to remind me of my wedding. Unfortunately, I've used most of my red stickers in recent planning spreads and didn't have enough left for this week. So in comes the purple and teal functional stickers that you see in this spread. The looks is growing on me the more I look at it, but i'm really wishing I had those red stickers on this spread instead.

I also found a sweet sticker set from Hobby Lobby this past weekend that was love centered and used that to add some fun elements to this page. I had a slight mishap with one of the larger stickers though and since they are not re-positionable I had to come up with a way to fix the page. You'll notice the bottom left corner of the spread doesn't look quite right and this is because I was trying to fix the sticker issue. :-)

I'm looking for some new etsy shops to try out so let me know in the comments what your favorite shops are!

Plan With Me

I am a very visual person and have always been a list maker. Writing things down helps me to remember tasks that need done or thoughts that I've had on my day. My work days can be pretty hectic and planning ahead helps me to keep track of the little things I want to get done each day as well as events that I need to remember. Cue the planning community! I am still pretty new to decorative planning but I'm really enjoying figuring out my style and what works well for me on a weekly basis.

The planner that I have been using is The Happy Planner by Me And My Big Ideas. I first heard of these planners through a friend and of course rushed right out to Michael's to pick one up.

This is the typical weekly view. The days are separated into morning, day, and night sections with a notes section to the left side of the page.

MAMBI Happy Planner

October feels like fall to me and since this week is the last full week in September I decided to go with a nautical theme. I found a really cute sticker book at Michael's for $1 that had a red and blue nautical theme that I felt was perfect to mark the end of summer.

I started off by covering up the green morning, day, and night headings with stickers that say "Today" and "To Do". I used a blue and white washi tape for the bottom and red washi tape to mark off my weekend. I really love the way that this week turned out. I am using my side bar to keep track of my goals for the week and general reminders. I've also added some meal planning stickers to the bottom of each day to help me keep track of what we eat for dinner.

You may also notice the game controller stickers towards the top of my layout. My husband is a GameStop Manager and an avid gamer so I thought these stickers were the perfect way to denote his work schedule!

I hope you enjoy and Happy Planning!
